Tribute to Veterans

Words fail me to express the exact gratitude I have for the numerous
veterans of this great country of ours. Duty called and you answered.
Many of you looked death in the face. You might have been wounded;
a buddy died on the battlefield; you thought you were going to die when
the shots came your way. You went into the service not knowing if
you would see action or not. You may have served in time of war, peace time
or cold war era. Whatever your era, you served proudly.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!

I am a veteran of the US Air Force. I proudly served our country 4 years.
I am glad I had the opportunity to serve my country from 1976-1980.
I was shipped overseas to England and served at RAF Bentwaters for 2 years.
It was an opportunity of a life time that I don't regret. I grew as a person, increased
my learning different customs of a lovely country that I lived in.
The British people were
awesome. I had to learn some of their lingo,
so I would stay out of trouble in conversation!!

I met my husband, who was serving with the Air Force as well. It was
great to live off base
and in a town that was small but we got what we
needed when not on base.I then went
stateside and
served at Holloman AFB until such time my
enlistment was complete.

All that aside, I feel that even though these times of war that
are so unlikeable,
I stand for our soldiers who answer that call to
their country and serve, helping others.

Many of us don't realize what good soldiers do in other countries.
Stop and listen to the
real stories of how lives have been touched by our
soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Among
the wounded and dead,
there is good. Never again should we put down our soldiers, even

if the war is unpopular. We need to stand behind them and support their
families as well.
I joined the Patriot Guard Riders because of the stand
they take in honoring soldiers when they
come back in flag draped coffins.
We stand in flag lines, when asked by the families, showing honor and
respect
for a life lived, fighting for a cause.

"God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her and guide her,
Through the night, with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam.
God bless America,
My home sweet home.
