Signs of Spring

My first daffodil of the year. My tulips are starting to come up as well, but no color.

Primroses I bought last week. If you look closer, the orange primroses have been tasted by slugs already. I've been shaking salt all over the place to keep these varmints at bay. I need to spray the ammonia water this evening, I guess. So disappointing but slugs are a sign of spring as well. Good with the bad!

Saxifraga in bloom. I've had these plants for years. They are from my mom's flower bed years ago. They weather any weather that comes about. A freeze can turn them black but they bounce right back in a few weeks. Amazing!!

Super Bowl Sun(Fun)day

Rabbit game over the shoulder of Justin. I risked getting hit by going between him and Erin to get the next shot. I ducked and moved at the right time.
It's warm up time prior to game time. Justin, Erin and Megan are dancing with a game on Wii.

Miska, our grand kitty. She's 1 1/2 months old.

Miska had her nose over this glass prior to Justin taking a drink. I thought she was drinking out of it when I was taking this photo but she just was thinking, I guess.
Granddaughter Melody, 20 months, sitting on a blanket her great grandmother Francis helped make. (Gr grandma stays busy with crafts at the nursing home. She did a portion of this flannel blanket. I know she stitched the backing to the front.)
Aunt Megan and Melody and Miska. Megan now has a kitty to love. She loves cats but we don't have one any more, for a few reasons.

Melody and grandpa Phil share a few fun moments. We had a fun afternoon,
munching on too many chips and laughing at the advertisements. They are sometimes more fun to watch than the game. This game was pretty good, even though none of our favorite teams were playing. Megan said it was mentioned in church that since we were Christians, we should root for Saints. They won and a pretty good deal for their first trip to the Super Bowl. Phil and I left before it was over since we had to grab a Subway sandwich and eat and get to Bible study. No chips this trip because we had our share! I did take a couple photos of The Who when they were performing but didn't post them as it's probably copyrighted.
Loved the music sang by Queen Latifah (God Bless America) and Carrie Underwood (Star Spangled Banner). So glad that this part of honoring our flag and country is still being done on national television and prior to sporting events. It's the sound of freedom!!
