Thoughtful Friday

I heard an interesting quote on the radio is too interesting not to share. "If I dream I'm already at work, does it make it okay if I'm late to work?" I don't think so. I told my boss that and he didn't think so either but thought it was funny.

It's been a good week even though it's been slow at work. We had some awesome sunshine on Monday and warm. Then evening fell and it was chilly. I went for a walk and had to wear my coat and a stocking cap. What's up with that? Now (Wed evening, as I write this) the rain is back. Good ol' Oregon for ya! Last Friday was nice so I spent some time at the tulip field doing what I love most, besides sleeping and eating chocolate~~photographing the field. The photo above is one of the bed displays.

My thought for the week is from the book of Samuel. I've been reading the Chronological Bible this year. I've been pretty faithful in staying up with the reading. Some book content is more interesting than others. What prompted my thoughts was how honest are we in this world when I read 1 Samuel 12:1-5 (NIV)

"Samuel said to all Israel, 'I have listened to everything you said to me and have set a king over you. Now you have a king as your leader. As for me, I am old and gray, and my sons are here with you. I have been your leader from my youth until this day. Here I stand. Testify against me in the presence of the Lord and his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed? From whose hand have I accepted a bribe to make me shut my eyes? If I have done any of these, I will make it right.' 'You have not cheated or oppressed us,' they replied. 'You have not taken anything from anyone's hand."

I'm just amazed at this Godly man, from the past generations of believers. He stood before all the people of Israel and was blameless in their eyes and in God's eyes, as their leader. Granted his sons didn't follow in his guidance of following God which is hard to fathom. But it happens to all of us at one time or another. But my point is that Samuel was Israel's priest and still followed what God laid out for him to his last days. I am not perfect but strive to live my life for our Lord Jesus in all circumstances. I pray that you will as well. God bless and have a great weekend.

Prayer Needed

I've just been notified this evening of a sadness...a family lost their 6 year old daughter last night. She died unexpectedly. Please pray for the Able family. Click on title link for more information. They would appreciate your prayers. My dau-in-law knows Crystal, the mom. Thanks!

Chocolate Bunny Calories

This article caught my eye in the USA Today newspaper a couple weeks ago while staying at a hotel. It was the day prior to Easter. I thought of the comic strip "Sally Forth" and how every year Sally gets Hilary's bunny ears. I thought this quite appropriate since we are always watching calories. Just something fun to share with you! Smile!

Easter Images from our House 2010

Table set for Easter; tulips bought by daughter from tulip field east of town; son's hand reaching for Easter chocolate candy!

Erin and Melody.
Melody eating a deviled egg. She liked it.

Pink blanket ghost! Who is underneath? Can you take a guess?!

Melody's Easter photo, at 22 months old. It's taken by her mom, Erin. This view is out their living room window in their duplex they moved into recently.
