Welcome Home American Soldiers

On the afternoon of April 18, 2010, I crossed town for a special time. I met up with some of our Patriot Guard Rider friends and members of the community to welcome home our Army men and women that had been deployed in Iraq for at least 6 months. There were yellow ribbons tied on trees and signs coming through town. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw them.

The fire department raised a flag over the street from it's little bag. The members of the community kept coming and so did family members til the sidewalks were full of people with flags and welcome home signs. A happy occasion~~happy tears flowing!! Three buses were escorted by our state police, PGR, sheriff department, and city police including a few not from our town. What a procession! We thank everyone who made this a safe and successful return home. I didn't know anybody in this group. We'd hoped our friend Jeff, would be there but he wasn't home til a few days later. I wondered what the soldiers were thinking when they saw the yellow ribbons, flag and people lining the street. I'm sure they were happy and maybe in awe of a crowd for welcoming them home. It would be sad if they weren't greeted.

It's good to have our soldiers home again.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, IN MANY WAYS! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Shopping Trip Word Flub

Can you tell what word is misspelled in photo above? I spotted this sign at the meat case while I was shopping yesterday! This was too funny not to share!

I had to make a trip to the hardware store to pick up a couple items for my garden set up. So I decided to get some groceries while I was out and stores are close in proximity. I "brain" shopped, knowing what I needed without a list and coupons. Not many of the items I purchase have coupons anyway right now. I did get staple goods I use that were on sale, like canned black beans and fruit, chicken that I'm out of and milk. I checked prices of chicken and price is comparable to Costco and it's out of town. So I saved myself time in driving and gas expense. Shopping completed, I was happy to see my friend, Talitha, as she was at check out right behind me! I love it when a friend makes my trip a bit more fun!
