Thoughtful Monday

This weekend I was away with a friend to do some scrapbooking with a group of ladies. It was a good time to be away since I needed to keep my mind off of losing a friend so suddenly on Friday morning when his motorcycle collided with a car. Fred was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. I had already planned to go away so I went and it did me good, even though Friday was a mixed emotion day. I chose to share these beautiful dahlias that I recently photographed to cheer myself up. I have to get my mind off sadness and think of other things. I will go with my daughter to the burial in a few days. Many PGR will be there since Fred was one of our group. His memorial service will be a few days later. We honor our dear friend for his love for life and his service in the US Navy.

We live on without our friends but remember the good times we had together.

Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed but we will keep you in our hearts forever. No one can take that away.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend--Fred. Losing someone from an accident is always a shock. I am glad you will be able to honor him at his burial and memorial service. PGR is a wonderful organization-they have done such good service for families already in grief!
Your dahlia photos are beautiful!I so wanted to go to the fields this year--but maybe next year.
God be with you and give you comfort.

Dear Becky ~

I hopped over to see if I could find the reason for the sadness you referred to on my blog. And I see this is the sorrow you are carrying. SO sorry to learn that you just lost a dear friend in such a tragic way! May the LORD give the needed comfort to you all at this time! How precious to belong to HIM, isn't it? I will be praying for you and for your friend's family today.

I'm so sorry to hear this. As a fellow biker, it breaks my heart when I hear of something like this happening. Makes me remember to pray before I get on, or for my hubby when he rides. So so sorry.

BTW, my hubby is going to ride with the PGRs this Tuesday and help escort the National Guard unit that is deploying out of Eastern Oregon to the Boise airport. So proud of him!
