Wings of Wonder

A couple Saturdays ago I went with four of my girlfriends over to Independence, OR to a place called Wings of Wonder. They grow butterflies there. We were in a class for 20 minutes where the man told us all about butterflies. I don't remember learning some of that in school years ago or forgot it! Anyway, these butterflies are just awesome. We went into the area where they flew freely inside the warmth of what seemed very tropical to us. It felt so good to be outside again but it was fun watching the butterflies fly and try to, by camera, capture, the blue ones opened. They are brown on the outside.
The very top photo is of the cocoons of various butterflies and one is emerging. The tropical flowers were beautiful. We hope to go back in April or May of next year and see more butterflies as we went at the end of the season. We had a wonderful time together exploring and watching that we don't step on any of the butterflies. One did land on the ground and stayed there for quite awhile. The blue ones (Morphos) kept flying around right above our heads.

The scenery was beautiful on our trip among fields and farms. The fall day was a bit cloudy and breezy with no rain, which was forecast. So it made a great day for a time spent with friends and time to gaze upon some beauty of God's creation! Make sure you visit the link when you click on Wings of Wonder above. You can see all the butterflies they feature as well. Take care and enjoy! Thanks for stopping by and leave a comment as well cuz I want to know you visited! :0)

Bottom one was timed so she could be in the photo!
