Memorial Day 2012

Flags from a few years ago when I was out at a local cemetery for a Memorial Day tribute.  Top flag has names of people who died in the 9-11 incident.  Bottom flags among rhododendrons in the cemetery.
I won't be out anywhere tomorrow taking flag photos since I am working 8 hours. Sigh!  I could go afterwards to see if the avenue of flags are up and waving in the breeze.  Usually they are up til dusk but don't know what's happening this year, since there's a different group of people taking care of the flags this year.    I hope they still fly. There are quite a few people buried there from the wars and some veterans as well.
No matter where you are, remember the sacrifice of our soldiers for our country.  Their blood was shed for our country so that we might live free.     Thank you to all who gave the ultimate sacrifice in past and recent wars. You are not forgotten!  God Bless America! We need you now, more than ever!

What gorgeous photos Becky! What a neat flag that top one is with all the names of those who died in 9-11...what a lovely tribute!

I hope you had a lovely day even though you had to work.

Blessings to you!

We didn't go anywhere either, but sorry to hear that you had to work! :( I hope the new people in charge of the flags put them up too.
