Sweet:Week 30 Photo Challenge

 I had too many sweet choices for the 30th week challenge. I decided since week 29 was railway crossing, I'd follow it up with a birthday cake at a friend's party. Jeff is an model train enthusiast. {I don't know what size he has.} Engine is Thomas the tank engine. The cake was made by someone his wife knows. So delicious! To the right are Egyptian style baklava, made by a man in Salem. So good!

A couple days earlier we were at a wedding for Miriam and Mark. Delicious cupcakes for their reception and drinks.

Jeff is cooking hamburgers on the grill for lunch, late Sunday afternoon. It was delicious! I realized this Coleman RoadTrip grill would be a fun one to have. I did a bit of research on line. I wound up buying one a week later! Now we need to get it out and use it. Phil got it put together the other week.

 After eating and talking and before headed home, I walked over to the covered bridge by the park. It's not an old one but it has a story behind it.

The hardware girl side in me always wants photos of bolts and nuts. Here they are! How else do you help a bridge stay together?

Just south of the covered bridge is another bridge, over the Santiam river. This scene really looked refreshing after a semi warm afternoon. Thankful for the shade trees in the park that kept us cooler than expected!

Speaking of coolness, we have had a two days of cooler weather...75 yesterday when we were in Willamina for another wedding! This morning I looked out the front window and found out the rain did come and wet our lawn and flowers quite well! Most of the week the temps are to be in the 70s and that we can handle after the heat of a couple weeks ago! Enjoy your week and thanks for stoping by for a visit!
"For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creatures of the sea, is tamed and been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue, It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not be so." James 3:7-10

"He who speaks truth declares righteousness, But a false witness, deceit. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health." Proverbs 12:17-18
  {scriptures from sermon this morning. We are going through the book of James.}

Today we finally had cooler weather too. It's supposed to only be in the low 80s all week and I'm so excited about that. We have a Coleman Road Tripper grill also. We've had it at the lake for six years now and still love it. We bought the adapter so we can hook it up to a regular propane tank instead of the little green cans. It's much more economical that way. Loved all of your photos today Becky. Those cupcakes and railroad cake look wonderfully delicious. You know me and chocolate! Have a lovely week my friend.
Blessings, Betsy
